Although, it is possible to join Treks that run almost all year round. The weather you will experience on Everest is extreme and rather unpredictable so it is best to be prepared for all eventualities. Spring is the high season for trekking, but warmer weather can mean there is a larger cloud cover, which obscures many of the fantastic views that are part of this once in a lifetime trek. For those willing to brave the colder temperatures of autumn and winter this is not such a problem.

A large problem on Everest is that as you reach higher altitudes the oxygen content of the air dramatically decreases. At 20,000ft there is only half as much oxygen in the air as you are used to and by the summit oxygen is reduced to only a 1/3.

For Contact:t:
Nepal Visitors Travel Network
P.O. Mera Peak is perhaps best known because it is Nepal’s highest trekking peak, any peak above this height is considered a full expedition peak with its associated higher permit cost. The Mera climb comes at the end of a two weeks long trekking and acclimatization program followed by a climbing program designed to give you the best possible chance of success. So far we have had 99% success rate in all of our Mera Peak expedition. The trip initiates in Kathmandu where we make last minute preparations and enjoy the cultural diversity of this ancient city before embarking on a short drive to Jiri and enter the Hinku from the south via Pangkongma to Khumbu valley and entranceway to Mt Everest. This trip offers highlights of non-technical climbing at moderate to high altitude, and even though it is not technically difficult, the climb incorporates a lot of the components of the higher expedition peaks. In addition to the climbing the expedition offers stunning Himalayan views and exciting Nepalese cultural experiences. Mera peak climbing is getting more and more popular each year due to the extraordinary mountain scenery it offers and also because if you are fit and have true enthusiasm for adventure, previous mountaineering experience is not required. This is the highest peak allowed for climbing in Nepal but also the one not demanding technical climbing. Being such a high mountain, the climb is of course a strenuous one, but the slopes rarely exceed 30 degree and hence it is technically straightforward.

Day By Day Program

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu, transfer to hotel 1300m
Day 02: Guided tour of Kathmandu, preparation for trek
Day 03: Fly to Lukla and trek to Chutanga 3100m
Day 04: Acclimatisation day at Chutanga 3100m
Day 05: Cross Zatra La pass and trek to Tuli Kharka 4400m
Day 06: Tuli Kharka to Tashing Ongma 3600m
Day 07: Trek to Tangnag 4350m
Day 08: Acclimatisation Day at Tangnag 4350m
Day 09: Tangnag to Khare 5100m
Day 10: Acclimatisation Day at Khare 5100m
Day 11: Khare to Mera La pass/ base camp 5415m
Day 12: Mera La to High Camp 5800m
Day 13: Ascent of Mera Peak (6476m), return to Base Camp at Mera La 5415m
Day 14: Rest or spare Day
Day 15: Mera La to Tangnag 4350m
Day 16: Tangnag to Tashing Ongma 3600m
Day 17: Tashing Ongma to Tuli Kharka 4400m
Day 18: Tuli Kharka to Lukla 2800m
Day 19: Fly to Kathmandu
Day 20: Shopping or free time in Kathmandu, farewell dinner
Day 21: Fly back home

More information on Mera Peak Climbing

Announcing the Gold Star Partner Showcase - Inside AdSense

Announcing the Gold Star Partner Showcase - Inside AdSense: ogle Adsense team.

Everest Base Camp Trek

Nepal Visitors Trekking and Walking - Small group adventure travel which has pioneered responsible tourism practises in Nepal".
